Whats involved?

Assessment

Initial assessments and benchmark testing to tailor the future program to your exact needs. Whether your beginner or experienced the assessment week will ensure your program is specific to your ability.

Strength

Working on your overall strength in running as well as strength needed for obstacles, the aim is to ensure you are strong enough come race day to prevent injury and beat those obstacles.

Running

Prescribed and personal run workouts and paces will take out the guess work in your run training. Each workout is designed with the specific pace personal to you to maximise your running performance.

Obstacle Mastery

Working on your grip strength, carries and obstacle proficiency, we will simulate obstacles out on the field to ensure you can beat them and get better times

Direction

Utilising the TrueCoach App, each workout has Videos with clear demonstrations of each exercise to ensure you know what to do.

Support

Your coach is on hand with a monthly call check in as well as one to one messaging for any questions or advice that you need around your training.

Who's my Coach?

Jake Barber

OCR & Endurance Coach

Jake has competed in multiple OCR World Championship events 2017/2019 and Spartan Race European  Championship Events 2018/2019. Including placing top ten in national events.

As well as personal experience in endurance events ranging from trail marathons, Ultra marathons to 12Hr Spartan Hurricane Heats.

Jake is a qualified personal trainer, distance run and nutrition coach.

From injury to Worlds Toughest Mudder

Matthew came to me with a calf injury only weeks away from his scheduled marathon and only months away from attempting the Worlds Toughest Mudder 2019. 

We utilised cross training in Matt’s program to ensure that he could continue with a minimal impact towards his end goal. Matt was unable to run without pain, so he sourced help from a physio and we also increased pre-hab and mobility exercises in his program. On top of this we worked on Matts overall strength as a runner and tweaked Matts form to help prevent the injury from re-occuring.

As the weeks went on Matt was able to run again with minimal loss of fitness due to a tailored plan concentrating on his personal needs.

Matt completed Europes Toughest Mudder with over 35 Miles, only a few months after being unable to run.

But best of all, later that year Matt ended up at the start line of the Worlds Toughest Mudder 2019, injury free with a herculean effort of 50+ Miles in the bag.

Success Stories

From Fun Runner to Elite Podium

Beth was a fun runner turned age grouper who had fell in love with the sport but was looking for better results on the field.

She had a good background in strength work, utilising some strong man classes in London, however she felt her running was letting her down when it came to getting those last few places in the race.

We designed a running program tailored to her Spartan Race schedule which consisted of Beast, Super and Sprint races. 

Working on building a base and some tailored speed sessions, Initially she saw an improvement in her age group standings. But unfortunately she succumb to injury on the field due to a footing misplacement.

After some rest and re-tailoring her program to a new goal for her Sprint race in Scotland, Beth had the personal drive to step up to the elite field and see how she stood against the best in the UK.

Beth managed a fierce effort in her race at Spartan Sprint Race in Scotland, and managed to Podium with a 2nd Place Overall in the women’s field.
